Cash drawers are driven by your receipt printer, so drawer problems are usually printer problems.
How it works
The drawer connects to the drawer kick port on the receipt printer with a cable that looks like a phone cord. No printer = no drawer.
Steps to try
- Reboot the receipt printer at that station, then try opening the drawer again.
- Check the cable from the printer to the drawer — reseat both ends (printer "DK" port and the underside of the drawer). Does the network cable connected to the printer display amber and green activity lights? If not, reseat both ends of this cable so they click firmly into place, both at the back of the printer and at the wall plate or network switch.
- Check print redirect. If receipts from this station are redirected to another printer, the drawer kick goes with them. Make sure print redirect is OFF for that station.
- Two-drawer setups: in Revel, go to Settings > Cash Drawers & Tills and confirm "Enable two cash drawers" matches your hardware.
