Common gift card fixes you can try in-store.
Card won't swipe or process
- Log out of the POS, refresh, and try the transaction again.
- Test the reader: from the dashboard screen, tap the Gift Card button and swipe — if the reader doesn't respond, reboot it.
Wrong value loaded on a card
Void the original gift card transaction, then ring a new gift card for the correct amount. The system will prompt you to swipe the card to load the value.
$0.00 gift card products
If the gift card product is priced at $0.00, the POS will prompt for the amount when you add it to the order.
Balance disputes or repeated failures
Collect the order number, gift card number, and date and send them to support. We need those details to check logs and escalate with the gift card processor (e.g., Valutec) — one example transaction makes the escalation much faster.
