Digital signage, menu board TVs, and music systems share a pattern: the screen or speaker is usually fine — it's the small player device behind it.
TV or menu board showing a black screen
- Is the TV powering on at all? Check for a standby light and whether the backlight reacts when you power it on. If the TV is completely dead, it's a TV/power issue — check the outlet and power cable.
- TV on but no picture? The problem is usually the media player behind the TV (a small box or stick). Unplug its power for 10 seconds and plug it back in.
- Wrong input: confirm the TV is on the input the player is connected to (many newer TVs have no physical buttons — you may need the remote).
Music stopped playing
- Reboot the music player device. If an update is in progress it may take a while and should resume automatically afterward — if it doesn't, power it off and back on.
- Check the amp/receiver is on and volume is up.
When you contact us
Tell us which TV or zone (e.g., "TV #3, dining room") and whether the TV powers on. We can remotely reboot and check status on managed players (ScreenCloud, Rockbot, and similar) — often before anyone climbs a ladder.
